DVD Birth Education
Series
DVD 2 in the
series explores both vaginal and caesarian birth
Birth Process -
Vaginal birth

Leanne, Childbirth Educator,
takes us through the birth process - the 3
stages of labour, and introduces you to
strategies for you and your support people to
use throughout your birth.
Many experts assist in
describing how focus
and relaxation help
through your labour.
Some of the complaints people
have about standard hospital birth classes is
that they do not have the opportunity to
practice positions for labour and birth-
now you can- in your own home!
Skin
sensations, breathing and massage have
long been used as a form of pain relief for the
labouring woman. See what the experts
(massage therapist, yoga instructor, breathing
specialist, midwives) have to say about how to
use other strategies to have the birth
experience that you want.
There is a special segment by
our Doula, Susan just for
support people- with some hands-on tools
for assisting the labouring woman to birth.
Chemical pain relief is mentioned as we
all know that having an open mind involves being
educated about ALL of the options relating to
childbirth.
We also discuss what happens
when you require an induction of labour.
Lisa shares
her birth plan and we watch her labour and birth
in an active way in a hospital setting.
Liz, our physiotherapist
talks to us about looking after our
pelvic floor after
baby has come through.
Caesarian Birth

Midwife,
Carolina talks about
what to expect if you have a
caesarian birth.
Mother, Amanda talks about
her experience when she got to
breastfeed on the
operating table.
Liz, physiotherapist
discusses precautions
after your caesarian.
After birth
There is a special segment by
NSW Midwife of the year, Carolyn on what to
expect from your 'just born' baby,
and what they need from
you.
We all know the
importance of the first
breastfeed, and Leanne (Lactation Consultant) gives some more
information on breastfeeding that follows on
from the information in DVD 1.
GP, Saroja also talks about
what to expect fro your 6-week postnatal check
up.
Physiotherapist, Liz
discusses the pelvic floor, and exercises to
help us get back to normal after a caesarian or
a natural birth.
