Carolyn Hastie is a
midwife, antenatal & birth educator, mother and grandmother.
She is also a lactation consultant and
co-author of "Birth territory and
Midwifery Guardianship", a book that
provides practical, evidence-based ideas for
restructuring your birth territory to
facilitate a normal birth.
Carolyn is passionate about making the
childbearing experience as fulfilling as
possible. Carolyn and her staff offer
a stand alone, woman centred birth unit
option for midwifery care through your
antenatal, birth and postnatal experience.
Carolyn talks in DVD 2
(making sense of your birth) about skin
sensations, and how they work as an
effective pain relief mechanism for labour
(known as the Gate Control Theory.)
She also discusses the
needs of your newborn baby at birth and ways
in which you can help your baby come into a
more loving & peaceful environment.
