Our Presenters Leanne Cummins

Leanne Cummins is a
Midwife, Lactation Consultant and Parenting
Counsellor who has be involved in
Childbirth Education in both public and
private health systems in Australia, and individual
one-on-one sessions in your own home over the past 12 years.
She has also worked in antenatal
& postnatal units, birth units, and
community midwifery programs. Over the past
6 years, Leanne has been one of a team of
midwives and Early Childhood Nurses that
talk to women all over Australia on a
telephone based hotline about pregnancy, birth and parenting.
Leanne is the Producer of the Birthing Sense
Birth Education Series (your private
prenatal class), bringing together the team from
around Australia to give you an antenatal
education class on DVD to watch in your own
home, at a time that is convenient to you
and your support people.
Leanne introduces each DVD, discusses
natural birth
and pain management strategies for labour &
vaginal birth on
DVD 2 (making sense of your birth).
She also discusses breastfeeding
throughout the series- why breastfeed,
how to breastfeed, and how to avoid and/or
deal with sore breasts and nipples when
feeding.
For Breastfeeding
Awareness Month, Leanne has produced a
booklet that answers many of the concerns
she has been asked over her 7 years as a
Lactation Consultant.
Leanne is
also a speaker to help educate professionals
for organisations such as Ayshe Women's
networks, Australian Breastfeeding
Association and NACE Inc.
